Deb Stodgell

Well what can I tell you about me? My personal background, my hobbies? Or, perhaps, how did I get to this point in my life?
I wish it were something jaw dropping or exhilarating but it has come about through a series of journeys and life experience. And I couldn’t be luckier.
I was never cut out to be an intrepid explorer, build amazing architecture or save lives but what I have always been able to do is write.
I loved it, still do. Having that blank sheet of paper or, nowadays, a computer screen sat in front of me, laid bare and just waiting for me to unfold the tale upon its pages, that is magical.
I draw on my knowledge and expertise to design, create the story and build upon history, personalities and hopes and dreams. A bit like wonderful artists do with their brushes and easels to paint the perfect picture but my picture for you is with pen and paper.

Until I started work for the Registration Service my previous career was in Local Government and the charitable sector where I was always writing, creating and then delivering my presentations and stories to a whole host of audiences across Somerset and beyond.
As a Ceremony Registrar I have had the absolute honour of writing, leading ceremonies and marrying couples and, together with past public speaking roles, I have spoken at, approximately, some 700 events and ceremonies to date.
It is very humbling to be in a position where I am able to work with you as individuals, couples and families to design and write a unique and personalised ceremony that meets your wishes for your special day and reflects whatever you want for one of the most important occasions in your life.
What does it give me? It instils a sense of pride, joy and achievement and the feeling of a ‘job well done’. When I arrive home at the end of the day I feel privileged to have been able to make a difference. A difference that leaves you and your loved ones with a smile and treasured memories for the future.
What I would like to give to you in return is my ability to listen, capture your story and then create a bespoke Ceremony that reflects your journey in the way you want it to be told.

I'm a passionate individual with a love for life's most special moments. As a devoted grandmother, avid traveller, and wedding enthusiast, I find joy in the simple pleasures and creating unforgettable experiences for others.
One of my favourite hobbies is walking. There's something magical about strolling through nature, taking in the beauty of the world around me. Another source of immense joy is spending time with my grandsons. Their laughter and curiosity bring an unmatched happiness to my heart.
Traveling is a true passion of mine, and my most cherished destination is New Zealand. Exploring its breath-taking landscapes and reuniting with my youngest daughter is an experience that I love.
As a wedding celebrant, I specialize in crafting bespoke and highly memorable wedding ceremonies. Your wedding day is one of the most important events in your life, and my aim is to set the perfect tone for your special day.

With a personalised approach and attention to detail, I will work closely with you to create a ceremony that embodies your dreams and values.
I look forward to being a part of your extraordinary journey. Let's create a ceremony that you and your loved ones will cherish forever.

Professional Colleagues

Welcome to you, our esteemed Colleagues.

Whether you are a Wedding Co-ordinator, Funeral Director, Photographer, Florist or any other of the wonderful professionals we work with, ‘thank you’.
We have worked with many of you over the years and without you and your skills and experience we wouldn’t be where we are today.
Whatever the occasion we will always be pleased to liaise with you and do whatever we can to make your life easier. Whether it is moving out of the way during a wedding so that you can achieve the best photos for the couple without us in the picture (and we’ve shuffled a lot over the years trying to avoid the camera) or arriving extra early to check music or seating we know that it is all of these things that make a difference. Our work for our clients is at the heart of everything we do but it is also there to complement your important work. We enjoy working in partnership with our colleagues and we will always be glad to help you in any way we can.
